Our Story and Mission
Anchor Point emerged from a straightforward observation: many individuals in their 40s, 50s, and beyond want better financial knowledge but find existing resources either too basic or overly complex. Traditional financial education often focuses on young professionals just starting out, while sophisticated planning services assume substantial existing wealth. We saw an opportunity to serve the significant group in between.
Founded in Singapore in 2018, Anchor Point developed its first course based on conversations with dozens of individuals navigating mid-career financial decisions. These conversations revealed consistent patterns: people wanted practical knowledge they could apply to real situations, explanations that made sense without jargon, and guidance appropriate to their actual circumstances rather than idealized scenarios.
Our courses reflect this understanding. We focus on building genuine comprehension rather than prescribing universal formulas. Financial situations vary considerably, and effective planning requires understanding principles well enough to apply them thoughtfully to your specific context. Our educational approach emphasizes developing this judgment alongside technical knowledge.
The name "Anchor Point" reflects our philosophy. In navigation, an anchor point provides stability and reference. In financial planning, strong foundational knowledge serves the same purpose, offering stability through market fluctuations and life changes while providing a reference point for evaluating decisions. We help you establish these anchor points in your financial knowledge and planning.
Over the past several years, we've worked with hundreds of individuals across different career stages and financial situations. This experience continuously refines our understanding of what works in financial education for this life stage. We incorporate feedback, adjust content to address emerging questions, and develop new materials addressing evolving needs while maintaining our core focus on practical, applicable knowledge.

Each course includes post-completion support tailored to course level. This ranges from email consultation for foundation courses to extended updates and access to educational resources for comprehensive planning participants.
Independence
Anchor Point operates as an educational organization independent of financial product providers. We receive no commissions or incentives for recommending specific products, allowing our courses to focus purely on knowledge and understanding.
Our Values and Expertise
Practical Application Focus
Financial knowledge becomes valuable when you can apply it to actual decisions. Our courses emphasize understanding that enables action rather than theoretical concepts in isolation. We work through realistic scenarios, address common decision points, and help you develop frameworks for approaching new situations you'll encounter.
Realistic Expectations
We acknowledge that financial planning involves uncertainty, trade-offs, and gradual progress rather than quick solutions. Our educational approach helps you understand what's reasonably achievable given your circumstances, develop strategies that work with real constraints, and build sustainable habits rather than relying on willpower or dramatic changes.
Respect for Individual Circumstances
Each person brings unique goals, constraints, preferences, and starting points to financial planning. Rather than prescribing universal approaches, we help you understand principles and options well enough to make informed decisions appropriate to your situation. Good financial planning reflects your values and priorities, not someone else's template.
Clarity Without Oversimplification
Finance involves genuinely complex topics, but complexity doesn't require complicated explanations. We work to present information clearly while respecting the real nuances involved. This means acknowledging when situations involve judgment calls, explaining the reasoning behind different approaches, and helping you develop the understanding needed to make these judgments yourself.
